I'm sorry Blogspot, it's just that Tumblr is easier to manage.....
BUT I'm alive and active, so let me condense everything so far: I'm currently studying in Florence, Italy at CSU Firenze and the Accademia di Belle Arti. Like I came, I conquered those exams, and now I'm at an art school with super cool people.
And to top it all off, my second art show gig starts in two weeks! I'm super excited!! I'll be presenting along my fellow peers at CSUFI and a few other groups.

Busy, Busy, Busy
I'm in the process of cleaning up and revitalizing this blog. I'm still using this to showcase "complete-for-now" works, I feel as though some things always need a touch up. Right now, I'm gearing up for an academic year abroad in Florence, Italy (link to that blog is on the bottom) and finalizing my portfolio to show what skills I have. So far, I'm very proud of this one:
Ignorancia is an acrylic and oil piece that made it to my school's student art show. Based on a Chinese fortune cookie that read "Many receive advice, only the wise profit from it."
A bit of shameless advertising, but the newest ZombieAlpacas comic is outafter a long, stressful hiatus. And of course, follow me on my art tumblr and my Florence tumblr too!

Old Stuff: Composition Class
So I finally got the time to snap some pictures of my old works. Sorry professor, I got caught up in so much work ;A; So these are all paintings for Composition class, with the theme being a comic that I've been tinkering with for years now. It's kind of like a twist to the story of La Llorona.

| oh right, and this slightly icky one. AT LEAST I GOT BETTER RIGHT? *crickets* |

David Hasselhoff + Violation
It's been such a long time since I've updated this blog, but I come bearing my latest work from Illustration II.
This is a triptych based on two random words, which are "David Hasselhoff," "violation," and "hard." I threw "hard" out and worked with the other two words. This is kind of a shoutout to a commercial Hasselhoff did to promote his Comedy Central post, which is a parody of a Carl's Jr commercial in which Paris Hilton washes a car very sexually.
It's still a work in progress, since the critique gave me such good feedback.

New Year
Oh dear, the new blogspot is something I need to get used to...
Happy New Year! It's been a while since I blogged here and it was because I've been running around taking pictures and seeing new things. I went to the Grand Canyon and saw snow for the very first time! Loved it, everything was beautiful. I also sold at Artist Alley so I was terribly busy because of that as well.
I have nothing new to post right now. All I have is my Illustration final composed of two paintings based on two separate tales.
One is on Sleeping Beauty
And the other is based on my recurring theme of the tale of La Llorona
What I'm working on right now is still a light sketch, but hopefully I'll get it done by the end of break.

Paintings, Comics and Illustration
I'm currently finishing a painting for composition. I now remember why I stopped buying cheap illustration board in the first place. The good thing is that the board is miraculously holding up and warping only a little bit. Nothing a good matting will fix :]
I also finally got around and updated my comic series with my good friend Martin. It's over at ZombieAlpacas (we need a new name) so please check it out! This week's comic touches on the topic of how to draw, giving it a rather blunt answer. I can't help it really, I'm actually quite tired of people, especially fellow art majors, sulking that they can't draw/paint anything and proceed to beat themselves up. All it needs is some practice, patience and time.
Speaking of time, I have managed to pick my works to submit for CSUN's Illustration Exhibition this year. I was kinda afraid to submit something last year so I'm hoping to get a spot this year c:
First one up is La Leyenda de La Llorona, an acrylic piece for composition class.

She Stole My Heart Container, an oil piece from my first illustration class last semester

....and I'm deciding whether to enter this or not. It's a triptych done in acrylic also from last semester's illustration class.
I'll do my best!
